"Favorite Winter
Holidays," was the theme of our most recent contest!
Young artists had the opportunity to draw a picture of their favorite
winter holiday or favorite winter activity during the holiday season.
We at Thornton Gallery wanted to see their imaginative and best art
work. The Judges looked at how well they expressed their winter
holiday theme, their technical skills for their age division, and the
overall artistic quality of their work. Winners received a cash prize
mailed to them.
Division I was for children ages 5 to 8.
Division II was for children ages 9 to 12.
Rules...
Artwork was to be the original hand drawn creation of the contestant.
A variety of coloring and drawing media were used (see below for more
details). The back of the artwork needed to have the contestant's
full name, age, mailing address and phone number (or email address).

Drawing Medium:
Contestants were allowed to use any of the following medium: pencil,
charcoal, crayon, colorpencils, magic markers, washable color
markers, watercolor paints, oil paints, acrylic paints, or mixed
media where you combine several methods together. NO photography or
copyrighted characters were allowed.
Drawing size:
Their drawing sizes were to be no smaller than 5x7 and no larger than 11x14.
Entry Fees:
There was a $2.50 (US dollar) entry fee for each drawing submitted.
Each contestant could submit up to two (2) drawings. Artwork was
returned only if a self-addressed, stamped envelop was included for
return shipping. Personal checks were made payable to:

Agreement:
All contestants agreed that their work may be used in future contest
promotions or advertising without further compensation. This contest
was void where prohibited or regulated by law. Any federal, state or
local taxes which may have been imposed on prize money were the sole
responsibility of the winner(s).
Entry Deadline
Our next contest is to be announced.
Thornton Gallery looks forward to seeing your imaginative and
artistic entries when the next Contest begins. The judges will review
the artwork on a designated date, and their decision will be final.
Prize monies in the form of personal checks will be mailed out on or
before an assigned date to each First Prize and Second Prize winner.
